Set a challenge before a group of girls and watch them rise to the occasion! Today's "Make a Difference Monday" post shines the spotlight on the women of The Ellis School in Shadyside and their Have a Heart for Hunger food drive.
This year's food drive brought in more than 40 jam-packed paper grocery bags full of staples for the Food Pantry. Cereal. Pasta. Rice. Peanut butter. It was a terrific bounty.
The secret to the drive's success? Friendly competition between the grades. The class that brought in the most filled bags of groceries earned a free "no uniform" day at school. Now that's motivation! Congratulations to the Seniors -- Class of 2011 -- who reigned victorious.
